Roszel Cathcart Thomsen

Roszel Cathcart Thomsen (August 17, 1900 – March 11, 1992) was a United States federal judge.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Thomsen received a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in 1919 and an LL.B. from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1922. He was in private practice in Baltimore, Maryland from 1922 to 1954.
On March 15, 1954, Thomsen was nominated by President Dwight D. Eisenhower to a seat on the United States District Court for the District of Maryland vacated by W. Calvin Chesnut. Thomsen was confirmed by the United States Senate on May 11, 1954, and received his commission on May 12, 1954. He served as chief judge from 1955 to 1970, and assumed senior status on January 31, 1971. Thomsen served in that capacity until his death, in 1992.
